Some years ago, I read a report by Spiro Zavos in the sports columns of my SMH newspaper, which described the behaviour of a football coach during a very tense finals game. The antics of the losing coach gave a very good insight into why his team did not win and in fact loses many close games. Change requires power. Any kind of change is a formidable challenge for most people. Yet the Lord asks us to change from our old ways and do things His way. Not an easy task!
“Put off … the old man, … and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and… put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Eph. 4:22-24) “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom. 12:2)

A fleeting moment can change your life.
Christopher Reeves had everything going for him – fame, fortune and best of all a loving wife and son. Enjoying his favorite sport, he fell off his horse. In a split second, his whole life changed! He is not alone.
In a moment, all dreams can be quashed.

We long for comfort and this usually comes from that which we know; that which is familiar to us. Once we can comfortably deal with and “know” all the “unknowns” we can “relax” – because your nervous system and your mind is designed to find and attach a meaning(s) to everything and [ ... ]
